Mariana builds the offshore infrastructure that lets island grids finally retire diesel — and clears the path for floating offshore wind at scale.
Mariana provides reactive power, physical inertia, fault current, and autonomous black start as a dedicated offshore asset — the physical grid services that inverter-based capacity cannot deliver, and that every non-interconnected island needs to reach 100% renewable penetration.
We target the approximately 30 qualifying EU non-interconnected island deployments across the Mediterranean and Atlantic archipelagos. Italy's ARERA 345/2023 TIDE/BSP framework, in force since January 2025, is the first EU ancillary-services market open to third-party stability providers. ENTSO-E's Phase II grid-forming mandates extend the regulatory category across the continent.
Each Mariana deployment also establishes the stability-hardened grid socket that future floating offshore wind arrays will need at the same island.
